Happy Anniversary Tom and Jerry

A friend and I were talking about childhood cartoons this past weekend and it amazed us when we looked up just how long the series Tom and Jerry had been on air. A whole whopping 80 years! Since the first short aired on this date all the way back to 1940, Tom and Jerry have been trying to catch each other over several generations.

It is amazing how long something has been going, but the most amazing of all is that Delta Team Tactical have super low prices on all of their products every single day! Death of a funny bone

My coworker was recently the victim of a crime. What crime? Someone had stolen his funny bone. I was telling him dad jokes to help keep both of us awake, and I swear he rolled his eyes more than a teenager ever has. When I asked Bird what the topic should be for this blog post for you guys, he said soda and how addictive it can be.

I don't know about that since I personally don't drink soda anymore, but I have heard it is quite like a compulsive purchase where you see it and simply can not pass it up, especially if it is on sale. Well, the best part of Delta Team Tactical is that our products are always on sale, so you don't have to worry about your wallet sweating every time you pull it out to make a purchase. So, in remembrance of Bird's lost funny bone, I have added a joke for the quote of the day so that we may all laugh and he may laugh as well.

Wiley X New Products

I’m not going to lie, I am pretty cheap. Meaning I like nice things, but I don’t always have to have the nicest and the best of all the things. Being that I have quite a few hobbies I buy cheap products that just need to be good enough so I can spend money on the gear I am passionate about. I was that way with shooting glasses. I would buy the super cheap safety glasses from the big box stores, usually buy a few pair because if you have ever bought them you know they break.

Well, a friend of mine who I did a large favor for worked for a sunglasses mfg, and to thank me for the favor he hooked me up with a pair of really nice shooting glasses. I both love and hate him for it. Love him in the sense that they are amazing, super comfortable, look good, great lenses, and I still have them 7 years later. Hate him in the fact I was totally content with my bargain basement glasses, and now nicer shooting glasses have moved from my “Good Enough” gear list to my “Nice Gear” list.

This leads me to the shameless product plug and that is a new brand we just picked up Wiley X. These glasses are awesome and true to DTT fashion are an incredible bargain for what they offer. These are glasses that will last years, so they are defiantly worth the investment, think about it, is there anything more important than protecting your eyesight? Swampfox new on DTT

At SHOT Show this year we had our sights set (pun intended) on picking up some specific brands and types of products. One of those types of products was optics (hence the pun) and one of those brands was Swampfox. Here at DTT we have prided ourselves on picking out products that pack incredible value for our customers. We also understand that people are on a budget and also have a variety of other hobbies that also eat up funds.

Trying something new

A friend and I were out shooting the other day and we decided to test which sight worked best for different distances of shooting. We had everything from no sights to iron sights to red dot and a scope. We found out that both of us are real bad shots with no sights on our uppers. Like, missed the target completely at only 50 feet. Iron sights came in handy for targets a little farther out, but we learned that red dots worked best for both of us at any distance. The scope was to hard to look through accurately since we both wear glasses and it kept hitting them.

First monumental step

Unpopular Opinions

A friend and I were talking about unpopular opinions and what we think of them. For instance, one that came up was that carrot cake is good. Personally, I'd rather munch on an actual carrot, but my friend would probably eat the cake until his stomach exploded.

Unpopular opinions are normally a fun way to get to know someone and what they stand for. Another unpopular opinion that I have heard is that two tone AR uppers are inferior to the all black ones. While the all black ones do look really slick and special agent-like, two tone uppers give you the chance to express yourself colourfully. Either way, both uppers look amazing. It is the morning after the biggest football game of the year and how does Mother Nature decide to greet us in the morning? With a lot of snow. People are sliding all around here in Utah and even though the groundhog said that spring will come early, I personally will believe it when I see it.

Small parts, big reward

We were talking about trains the other day in the office and we were trying to figure out if a train would be able to run if a part was missing, like a wheel or even a tiny pin. We never found out the answer, however we did talk a lot about how if you are missing one part of a machine, it affects how the other parts do their jobs.

It is hard to believe that today is the last day of January already. It seems that time has flown by. With so many things changing already this year, I am just glad that one constant has remained and that is Delta Team Tactical's amazing deals.

Personal Protective Equipment and why it is important

A coworker and I were talking about the latest update from the Coronavirus a.k.a the "Kung Flu" and it got us thinking about all the different times that people wear PPE or Personal Protective Gear.

Protective gear is not just for the sick, but it is used in everyday life without people even realizing it. For instance, how many times have you been driving past a construction site and seen someone with a hard hat on, or with gloves on, or even with those shiny reflective vests on. Another time that you wear PPE is when you are at the shooting range. Ear pro and eye pro are very important in keeping you safe. So remember to wear your helmets, especially when skiing down a mountain for the first time and crashing so hard that you split your prescription glasses in half. Just like my coworker Bird.

I had often heard the phrase 'all great things start out small' and honestly, they do. For instance, take the Coca-Cola company. It started out as a small side-shop in a pharmacy and has now expanded into a giant of an empire.

This saying is especially true for guns. When I bought my first one, I was not fully aware of how addicting it is to buy one and shoot it for the first time. Now that my collection has grown, it is fun to look back on where it all started and to see how, one by one, my collection has slowly taken over the house. My husband and I were out shooting the other day when we decided to do something that would end up letting us have more fun than ever. We decided to play a game of Horse. Yes, Horse. Like the basketball game, we each took turns shooting at the different targets and we had to get within .5 inch of the first person's hole.

Safe to say, I lost. However, it not only made us work harder at getting our accuracy up, it was also a fun and competitive way to enjoy getting out and shooting again instead of just standing there. Part of the journey

A wise man once told me that if you don't give yourself time to enjoy the little things in life, then you will not be able to find joy in the big things in life. At first, I had no idea what he was talking about. I was so focused on the future and what it held for my husband and I, that I missed all the little things that would have made those years less stressful.

I don't mean stop at every little thing you see and stare at it for hours. I mean that you should enjoy the little hiccups that come in your way and just say that it is all part of the journey. One of such little things that I have come to love is those saturday mornings when my husband and I clean guns while we watch our show. Just a little bit of time that we steal from the world where we don't have to worry about anything except what we are doing. It is little snippets of time that make up life, and it is those that people tend to forget about.

No obstacle to big

To often people think that just cause an obstacle pops up in their path that they should just abandon it without a thought. They just try something once and then think that since they are not magically good at it, that it means that they simply weren't meant to do it.

I have seen people do this with shooting. We take them out for their first time, then since they managed to miss every target in their path, they don't want to go again. I get it, you don't want to fail. However, if you don't fail, you don't learn. That way, next time you go shooting with your friends, it is them who can't shoot accurately.

I have noticed in life that people tend to overthink things. Being one of them, I know how much of a headache it can be when you think about all of the little things that you feel you need to plan all the way down to what kind of toothpaste you need to pack for a weekend trip. Something that is good in your life though, is spontaneity.

There will not be a perfect time. There is no such thing as waiting for the perfect time unless you are in a fairytale where apparently the perfect time is also the time that you are in the most danger. So, if you are bad at being spontaneous, why not start little by little such as getting an upper from DTT. You may not know exactly what you want it to look like just yet, but that is what practice is for.

Death by Hibiscus Flowers

A coworker of mine tried to poison me by giving me a sun dried flower that was literally sugar coated. It was fine when you take little bites, however when you get to the part where the center of the flower is and where the stem of the flower went, it is like you took a big bite out of your mother's garden.

We know he meant well, and that there are people out there who eat them cause they like them. However, according to my coworker and I, it is better to stick to actual candy instead of flower candy. So try getting something new from delta and see how you like it, because I can guarantee you, it is better than the sugar coated flower.

Personal treasure chest

I was watching a show with my young niece the other day and a thought struck me that I wanted to share with you guys. They were searching for buried treasure on an island and when they found it, the treasure was the usual shiny gold and jewels and what not. I thought to myself, man those kids look as happy as I do when I get packages delivered to me.

It then hit me that when we grew up, our treasure chests grew up with us. Instead of digging up your mother's garden searching for hidden treasure, you eagerly wait for your treasure to be delivered to your front porch!
