One of the most critical components of any LR-308 custom build is the handguard. In recent years freefloat handguards have increased in popularity. The freefloat handguard covers the barrel and is attached to the upper receiver via a barrel nut. The handguard serves many functions in an LR-308 build kit such as protecting the shooter's hand from being burned by the barrel, offering the shooter something to grip to help steady the weapon, can function as the attachment point for sights/optic, can have additional accessories attached, and adds to the aesthetic appeal of the build.

About this Handguard: This Guntec Air Lite Honeycomb LR-308 Freefloat Handguard is 15" in length and boasts an M-Lok rail mounting system.

Mounting System: The Air Lite Honeycomb handguard utilizes the M-Lok mounting system for easy and solid mounting of different accessories & grips on multiple different positions of the handguard.

Material of Handguard: The Guntec Air Lite Honeycomb LR-308 freefloat handguard is precision CNC machined from a high quality 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum extrusion. This ensures that the handguard will be both extremely light and very strong.

Barrel Nut: The Air Lite Honeycomb Handguard comes with a high quality steel barrel nut and mounting hardware

Type of Top Rail: This Air Lite Honeycomb Handguard is CNC machined with a picatinny rail across the top of the entire handguard.

Finish: To maintain corrosion resistance the Air Lite Honeycomb handguard is treated with a Type 3 hardcoat anodizing.

Includes: Mounting System, Handguard, Barrel Nut.
