One of the most important parts of any LR-308 is the handguard. Handguards have gone through many changes over the years from the plastic clamshell-style to the free float system. Both systems give the shooter a comfortable grip while protecting their hand from the heat that radiates from the barrel. Both systems have many different designs and features built into them but the free float system tends to be more modular. While some of the drop-in handguards offer M-Lok slots and QD mount points, most free float systems offer those same options and usually more available slots. Most handguard options have built-in options for mounting lights, lasers, pop-up sights, etc., and those that don't have them built-in may have M-Lok or Keymod options for mounting accessories.

About This Handguard: The 12" High Profile KeyMod Freefloat Handguard from Omega Mfg. features a KeyMod rail mounting system and a full top rail.
Top Rail: The 12" High Profile KeyMod Freefloat Handguard is CNC machined with a Picatinny rail across the top of the entire handguard.
Profile: The "Sea Hawk" Handguard is made with a rounder profile, and KeyMod slots spanning the length of the handguard at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions.
Cuts: Slim - This 12" High Profile KeyMod Freefloat Handguard from Omega Mfg. The handguard is designed with large filet shapes cut into the handguard. This method not only improves the aesthetic of the handguard but keeps it lightweight without affecting the strength or function of the handguard.
Finish: To maintain corrosion resistance the Omega Mfg. the handguard is treated with a Type 3 hardcoat anodizing in black.
Material Of Handguard: The "Sea Hawk" Handguard is precision CNC machined from a high-quality 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum billet.
